Events

Several events will take place in 2012 to contribute to the promotion of co-operatives. The United Nations will launch the International Year of Co-operatives in New York in November 2011.

In Canada, an official launch event is expected in early 2012. During the spring, co-operatives will celebrate the International Year of Co-operatives during their annual general meeting. In June 2012,  CCCM in collaboration with CCA, will organise a joint Congress in Montreal.

From October 8-11 in Quebec City, an International Summit of co-operatives will be organized by Desjardins Group. This event will be followed by the Co-op Week who take place from October 14-20.

In addition, several meetings will be held in Quebec City during the Summit such as an International co-operative development meeting organized by SOCODEVI, Desjardins International Development and Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF).
